SnoreMeds is a custom-fitted oral appliance that is generally worn at night. It works as a splint by positioning and holding the lower jaw slightly forward which ensures that the airway remains open while you sleep. This adjustment will therefore ensure that the air flows through unobstructed, which will ultimately stop snoring vibrations. SnoreMeds is made from hypoallergenic thermoplastic, which is FDA approved for dental and medical use, it is also BPA and latex free. SnoreMeds is easy to fit and wear but can not be used for children under the age of 18 and for people who have dentures.
Snoring is usually caused by a partial obstruction of the upper airway behind the tongue. When we’re awake, our breathing is unobstructed as our body consciously keeps our upper airway open. But when we’re asleep, the muscles around our airway relax, and the airway often becomes narrower. For most people who snore, air rushing through the narrowed opening causes the soft tissue in this part of the upper airway to vibrate, making the sound of what we call snoring.
